Bob Boyer

We went to the McKenzie Art Gallery. When we got there we split into three groups. In my group, the first thing we did was go into the coat room to put our coats away. Then we headed for the big room and made an art drawing. We could do it like Bob Boyer did or we could make our own design. My group choose to make our own designs. We used stencils and oil pastels. My picture was of different designs and shapes. After we were finished our pictures we went to wash our hands then we went up to the Bob Boyer exhibits. We went and sat down. Our guide tour talked to us about a couple of the paintings on that wall. Then we moved over to some more paintings and she talked about those ones. A lot of his paintings were about horses.
Then we went into a different area and we saw paintings on blankets. Bob Boyer did lots of paintings on Blankets.

After that we went into a very big area and we did a little project. The project was we got a sheet of paper and there were a whole bunch of blank circles and we got to decorate the circles anyway we wanted to. After that she took them and we went into a different room. In this room there were paintings on blankets and on canvas. There was a bunch of felt material in bags. We went into groups and picket a painting from the wall and then we had to take the felt and lay it out the floor like the picture. Then we talked about it. After that the tour was over. We went back downstairs and got our coats and went to the front doors where we went back on the bus that took us back to school.

I learned that when an artist paints a picture, the painting has a story. One of the paintings was of a horse who lost his owner in a battle they were in. The horse was a first nations horse. I could tell it was a first nations horse because it had bead work on its saddle. The horse had its head down. I could tell the rider died in a war and the horse was sad. Where the saddle was on the horse there were a couple of dots above the saddle on the horse. Those dots meant that the rider was gone. So what I learned is that all paintings tell a story and have different meanings. So if you ever go to see paintings, look at the painting and look for the story it might contain.

Bo Boyer died in 2004, he was 52 years old. He lived his entire life in Saskatchewan. He was born in 1948. Bob Boyer isn’t just a regular kind of artist, he was different. IF you ever go to the Mackenzie art gallery, you will see that all of his painting have a story to tell.

My favorite paintings from his collection that I saw are A Small Pox Issue 1983. Another one I liked a lot was Scene/seen at St. Victor: 1993. He is an amazing artist and his work is all beautiful. I thought I would see all drawings and I saw a whole lot of paintings. Now when I see paintings and artists drawings, I will appreciate them more for what they mean to the artist and what story I might get from them.

Barbara is another artist that we were working with to help her to complete an art project that she was doing. We made origami blow up boxes out of paper that she took to the Mackenzie Art Gallery and made a city out of them. When we went on our tour to the Mackenzie Art Gallery we got to go see it. It was cool that we helped her make her art.

Ballet

On November 19, 2008 St. Gregory went to Regina Youth Ballet. But the band kids had to go to band. I missed some of it but I thought that the part that I saw was very good. The last one they did I can’t remember the name to it but it was a different kind of dance I thought that it was a hard dance to do. In this dance I thought the costumes where neat and had the dance in them. They did a lot of jumping in the dance.

There was another dance they did but I only got to see the end of it. It was something to do with people with white hair and white costumes and shoes. I thought that it was a good dance to. I only got to see the end of it. It was good. So people that read this you should go and see the performance at Regina Youth Ballet so go see it.

Cut and past Poems

A fantasy did you no longer see
Soft white and bright
The blind mind Of aving to do nothing
Never never let children be hypnotized by your impotant tv
Every house eyes pop out
They sit and stare gaping at the screen
Until they're better
Last week dozen eyeballs in somone machine
In that tv screen

NewYork ,New York

Hope you like my story. You can wright comments about the story at the bottom of the page.

One day there was a guy named Frank. Frank lived in New York City, in a big house.

Frank worked at SaskTell and had the day off. So Frank went to the Northgate mall and

went shopping. Then he came home and ate lunch. For lunch he had a wrap. Then he

went out again to stupid store to get groceries. When he came home from getting

groceries it was about 6:15, so he made supper. For supper he had spaghetti and meat

sauce with meatballs. After supper it was about 8:30. He went into the living room and

watched TV. He was watching the movie, I Am Legend. He watched the movie until

11:00, then he flipped through the channels and found Larry the Cable Guy. He is a

comedian. When that was over it was about 12:00.

bed. So when he went to bed he tough he herd someone in the backyard so he got out of

bed and looked out into the backyard. He looked and looked and there was no one there.

So he went back to bed and then about five mints later he herd something again in the

backyard so he goes to the window and then go to the door and goes outside to see what

is the commotion is and why there so much noise so. When he opens the door’ the noise

stops. So he goes to the other house and nooks on the door and no one answers the door.

So he goes back to his house and goes to bed. When he gets into bed he falls asleep at

1:00.

When frank goes to sleep he is out for the night . So while Frank is

sleeping Bob is in the backyard. Bob is a robber. Bob goes to the

step and tries to put his pocket knife in the door. When he puts it into the door he slips it

to the latch and it unlocks the door . So all that Bob has to do now is unlock the big lock

in the door. ( he has to do that to get into the hous). Bob slips his pocket knife into

the big lock and un locks the door and gets into the house. When Bob gets into the house

he dose not know that frank is in the house. So when Bob goes into the house he makes

lots of noise. Bob steals Franks stereo , Wii ,and lots of other things in the house .

Bob goes to the kitchen and steals food and other things. When Bob sees that Frank has

an upstairs to the house. He goes up the stair and goes into the spar bedroom and steals

two pillows and a blanket out of the closet in the spar bedroom in the upstairs. So Bob

goes to the other bedroom but he doesn’t steal anything from that room. So he goes into

the room that Frank is sleeping in. Bob does not know that Frank is sleeping in that room.

Bob goes in the room and start stealing billing and lots of other things. Bob makes lots of

noise in the bedroom . Franks stars moving in the blankets and Bob goes what is that .

Bob stops moving in the bedroom Frank wakes up and sees Bob then call the coops and

says. Hi I am Frank I live in New York City and there is a robber in my house come

quick. So the cops got to the house and caught Bob and said you will get all of your

thing back that he stole and do you mind if we put it on the news frank said I don’t care

if you put it on the news. I will give you all of your stuff back tomorrow I gust have to

put it trough the wash I will see you tomorrow. The next day. The cop came to the

house and nooked on the door and Frank answered the Frank said hi cop the cop said hi

.the cop gave Frank his stuff and left . Frank put his stuff back where it was and went on

with the day .
